Delivery area
Anjos: a metro stop between two ridges
Anjos sits on the green line between Arroios and Intendente, a mix of older apartment blocks and newer cafés along Rua dos Anjos and Largo do Intendente's edge. It reads as quieter than Intendente proper, but shares its rhythm.

What the area is like
A residential slope
Rua dos Anjos climbs gently from Intendente towards Arroios, lined mostly with apartment buildings from the early to mid-20th century, four or five floors, often without a lift.
Close to Intendente without being it
The square itself belongs to Intendente, but the streets just north and east of it, around the Anjos church and metro entrance, are calmer and more residential.
Small shops still open late
Grocers and mini-markets along Rua dos Anjos and Rua Cidade de Cardiff tend to stay lit well into the evening, useful as reference points after dark.
A short walk to Arroios
The boundary with Arroios is informal rather than marked, so people here often describe themselves by both names depending on which street they are on.
Getting around
- Anjos metro station, on the green line, is the fastest way in from most of the centre.
- Buses along Avenida Almirante Reis connect Anjos to Alameda in one direction and Restauradores in the other.
- Streets are wide enough for cars to stop close to most buildings, unlike the older grid further downhill.
- Building entrances usually have a working buzzer panel, so a flat number is normally enough here.
Typical hours
Daytime
A steady flow of residents and metro traffic; grocers and cafés open as usual.
Early evening
Quieter than Intendente's square, with people mostly heading home along Rua dos Anjos.
Late
Residential and largely quiet after midnight, though the metro entrance and a handful of shops stay lit.
At night, 7pm to 5am
Anjos calms down earlier than Intendente or Martim Moniz. By late evening the main activity is around the metro entrance and the still-open grocers; the residential streets above are quiet, so a flat number and buzzer name are usually all that's needed.
How to describe your location here
Give the street, the building number and a nearby cross street such as Rua Cidade de Cardiff or Rua Fernando Palha. If you're near the square, mention the church or the metro entrance rather than a house number.
How delivery works here
Send the street, number and buzzer name on WhatsApp. If you're closer to the square, a landmark works better than a number.
Order by WhatsApp, every day from 7pm to 5am.

- Not quite — Anjos covers the streets just north and east of the square, which are calmer and more residential than the square itself.
- Which metro line serves Anjos?
- The green line, with the station right on Rua dos Anjos.
- Are the streets quiet at night?
- Yes, more so than Intendente's square — most of the neighbourhood is residential and settles down by late evening.
