Night in Lisbon
Ordering tobacco in Lisbon after dark
LUME works from 7pm to 5am, every day, by WhatsApp. The city changes a lot across those ten hours, and so does what makes an order quick to complete. This page explains how the night actually works, area by area and hour by hour.
Every day, 7pm to 5am. Adults 18 and over.
The main Lisbon page covers the service as a whole: tobacco shop delivery in Lisbon.
The night, hour by hour
7pm – 9pm
The window opens. Shops are still open across the city, streets are busy and most addresses are easy to describe by the business below them.
9pm – midnight
Restaurants fill and neighbourhood shops close one by one. Bairro Alto, Cais do Sodré and Santos start to gather people; residential areas go quiet.
Midnight – 3am
The busiest part of the night. Nightlife concentrates in a handful of areas while the rest of Lisbon is closed, so a landmark matters more than a door number.
3am – 5am
Streets empty, traffic disappears and moving across the city is fast. Nothing is open to use as a reference, so the building entrance and floor are what count.
Which areas stay awake
Lisbon's late-night activity concentrates in a few places. Everywhere else is residential and quiet, which is not a problem — it just changes what you send with the order.
Bairro Alto
Full from about 11pm; streets are pedestrian and doorways sit behind crowds.
Cais do Sodré
Flat, lit and active until the early hours, with the station square as a meeting point.
Santos
Bars along the avenue keep weekends busy; the Madragoa streets above stay quiet.
Chiado
Late restaurants and passage between Baixa and Bairro Alto for most of the night.
Alcântara
The docks under the bridge and the old factory blocks run late at weekends.
Graça
The viewpoints keep people out well past midnight, even with the trams gone.
What to send after midnight
- The items you want, from the catalogue.
- Street, number and floor — plus the block or entrance if you are in a complex.
- A nearby crossing, square or gate, especially in Alfama, Mouraria, Bairro Alto and Olivais.
- Whether you will come down to the street door or wait upstairs.
Questions about ordering at night
- What hours does LUME work?
- Every day from 7pm to 5am, by WhatsApp only. Outside those hours messages are read when the window opens again.
- Is ordering at 2am different from ordering at 8pm?
- The conversation is the same. What changes is the city: most shops are shut, so the address detail you send does more work than a landmark would earlier in the evening.
- Which parts of Lisbon are still awake late?
- Bairro Alto, Cais do Sodré, Santos, parts of Chiado and the Alcântara docks at weekends. Residential areas are quiet from around midnight.
- What should I send with a late order?
- The items, the street and number, the floor, and either a nearby crossing or a place you can wait. That is usually everything needed.
- Do you deliver to hotels and apartments at night?
- Yes, to the address you give. LUME has no partnership with any hotel or building, so reception rules are set by the property, not by us.
